Environments
Calciosamarskite is an accessory mineral in
rare earth element-rich
granite
pegmatites, common but not abundant. Associated minerals
include columbite, zircon,
monazite, uraninite,
aeschynite, magnetite,
albite, topaz,
beryl, garnet,
muscovite and biotite
(HOM).
Localities
There are two co-type localities, the Woodcox Mine, Monteagle Township, Hastings Highlands Municipality, Hastings
County, and the McQuire Mine, Conger Township, Parry Sound District, both in Ontario, Canada.
At the type localities calciosamarskite occurs in anhedral masses as an accessory mineral in
rare earth element-rich
granite
pegmatites. Associated minerals include
zircon, uraninite,
topaz, muscovite,
monazite, magnetite,
garnet group minerals, minerals of the
columbite-(Fe) -
columbite-(Mn) series,
biotite, beryl,
albite and aeschynite
(Mindat).
