Cattierite occurs in association with pyrite, chalcopyrite and other linnaeite–polydymite group minerals (HOM).

Localities

At the type locality, the Shinkolobwe mine, Shinkolobwe, Kambove District, Haut-Katanga, DR Congo, cattierite occurs in carbonate rocks associated with pyrite and chalcopyrite (Mindat).
