Localities
At the type locality, Arakawa, Minamiboso city, Chiba Prefecture, Japan, chibaite occurs as veins cutting
tuffaceous sandstone and
mudstone in sediments deposited near a plate margin. Associated
minerals include calcite, quartz,
opal, pyrite,
epistilbite and
clinoptilolite
(HOM).
