Localities

At the type locality, the Musonoi Mine, Kolwezi, Kolwezi mining district, Lualaba, DR Congo, demesmaekerite occurs rarely in the lower oxidised portions of a selenium-bearing coppercobalt deposit, associated with cuprosklodowskite, kasolite, guilleminite, derriksite, chalcomenite, malachite and selenian digenite (AM 51.1815-1816).
Pseudomorphs of schoepite after demesmaekerite have been found here (Lauf2).
