Localities

At the type locality, La Fossa crater, Vulcano Island, Lipari, Eolie Islands (Aeolian Islands), Metropolitan City of Messina, Sicily, Italy, demicheleite-(Br) was found in an active high-temperature fumarole at the rim of the crater. It occurs as prismatic translucent crystals up to 0.5 mm in size in an altered pyroclastic breccia, together with pseudocotunnite, bismoclite, bismuthinite, cotunnite and challacolloite (AM 93.10.1603-1607).
