Environments
Localities
At the type locality, the Levoberezhnoe Iceland spar deposit, Nizhnyaya Tunguska River Basin, Evenkiysky District,
Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia, ferrosaponite occurs as spherulites, up to 2 mm across, and as radial columnar
aggregates within calcite. The type mineral is associated with
calcite, pyrite,
quartz, mordenite,
heulandite-Ca and
stilbite-Ca that form a hydrothermal assemblage at the deposit
(AM 89.467).
