Fervanite occurs in uranium-vanadium deposits of the Colorado Plateau
type. Common associates include carnotite,
duttonite, gypsum,
hewettite, metahewettite,
metaschoderite, schoderite,
steigerite, straczekite and
tyuyamunite
(Mindat).
Localities
At the North Wilson pit, Union Carbide Mine, Wilson Springs, Garland County, Arkansas, USA, fervanite is
associated with hewettite,
duttonite, schoderite,
metaschoderite and
straczekite
(HOM).
There are two co-type Localities, the Gypsum Valley Mining District, San Miguel County, Colorado, USA, and the Polar
Mesa, Gateway Mining District, Grand County, Utah, USA. Fervanite occurs as an impregnation in
sandstone in the Colorado Plateau-type
uranium-vanadium deposits. Associated minerals include
hewettite, metahewettite,
carnotite, steigerite,
tyuyamunite, gypsum and other
vanadium oxides
(HOM).
