Flaggite is a new mineral, approved in 2021 and to date (May 2023) reported only from the Tombstone mining district.

Localities

At the type locality, the Grand Central mine, Contention-Grand Central Mine group, Tombstone Mining District, Cochise County, Arizona, USA, flaggite occurs in cavities in quartz matrix in association with alunite, backite, cerussite, jarosite and rodalquilarite. Flaggite crystals are lime-green to yellow-green tablets, up to 0.5 mm across, with a very pale green streak and adamantine lustre (MM 86.3.397–404).
