Hydrothermal environments

Freieslebenite occurs in hydrothermal veins associated with acanthite, pyrargyrite, silver, andorite, galena and siderite (HOM, Mindat).

Localities

At the Van silver mine, British Columbie, Canada, both freieslebenite and diaphorite, which are almost indistinguishable, have been found as crystals up to 1 or 2 mm long (Minrec 31.3.227).

The type locality is the Himmelsfürst mine, Brand-Erbisdorf, Mittelsachsen, Saxony, Germany.
