Environments
Graftonite-(Mn) is a primary phosphate mineral found
in phosphate nodules
(Mindat).
Localities
At the type locality, Lutomia Górna, Gmina Świdnica, Świdnica County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Poland,
graftonite-(Mn) is a common primary phosphate in
beryl - columbite - phosphate
subtype of zoned rare element
pegmatites related to anatectic melts, generated by
partial melting of metasedimentary metavolcanics rocks during
amphibolite-facies metamorphism and
migmatisation.
Graftonite-(Mn) is pinkish brown and transparent with a vitreous lustre. Associated minerals include
sarcopside,
graftonite-(Ca),
triphylite oxidised to
ferrisicklerite and
heterosite,
alluaudite group minerals,
wolfeite, stanĕkite and
whitlockite
(MM 82.6.1307-1322, HOM).
