At the type locality, the Taylor Pit, Huntingdon Township, Madoc area, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada, guettardite occurs in a low temperature hydrothermal vein in marble (Mindat). Associated minerals include pyrite, sphalerite, wurtzite, galena, stibnite, orpiment, realgar, enargite, tetrahedrite, zinkenite, jordanite, bournonite, sterryite, boulangerite, jamesonite and sartorite (HOM).

At Seravezza, Lucca Province, Tuscany, Italy, guettardite is of low-temperature hydrothermal origin, in marble (HOM).

At Silverton, Animas Mining District, San Juan county, Colorado, USA, guettardite is associated with zinkenite, boulangerite, semseyite, jordanite and enargite (HOM).
