Localities

At the type locality, the Otter Shoot Nickel Mine, Juan complex, Kambalda Nickel mines, Kambalda, Coolgardie Shire, Western Australia, hydrohonessite has been found encrusting fractures in the oxidised portions of nickel-iron sulphide deposits. Associated minerals include honessite, reevesite, magnesite, gaspéite, pecoraite, goethite and gypsum (HOM).

At Hagdale Quarry, Unst, Shetland Islands, Scotland, UK, hydrohonessite occurs in chromitite associated with honessite, reevesite and theophrastite (HOM).

At the Cameron Mining District, Coconino County, Arizona, USA, hydrohonessite is associated with wupatkiite, nickelboussingaultite and pickeringite (HOM).
