Localities

At the type locality, Vermion mountain, Pella, Central Macedonia, Greece, theophrastite occurs in a magnetite-chromite mine with magnetite, chromite, millerite, vesuvianite, chlorite, andradite-grossular, nickel-bearing serpentine minerals and calcite (AM 66.1020-1021, Dana, HOM).

At the Hagdale quarry, Scotland, UK, theophrastite occurs on chromitite associated with zaratite, reevesite, honessite and hydrohonessite (HOM)
