Localities

At the type locality, the Cap Garonne Mine, Le Pradet, Toulon, Var, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France, iltisite occursas red to brown-red, isolated, flattened hexagonal crystals, about 0.02 mm across. It is translucent with a red streak and adamantine lustre. It occurs in small cavities in quartz, associated with olivenite, perroudite, brochantite, capgaronnite, parnauite and tennantite (AM 83.400-403).
