Itoite is a very rare mineral that occurs at the type locality, the Tsumeb Mine, Oshikoto Region, Namibia, in the
upper oxidation zone of a germanium-bearing
copper and arsenic rich polymetallic
ore deposit, as fine-grained
pseudomorphs after
fleischerite, associated with cerussite,
mimetite and altered tennantite, and also
as a crust on plumbojarosite and
mimetite on
dolomite
(AM 45.1313, Mindat, HOM).
