Localities

At the type locality, the Balasauskandyk V Deposit, Shieli, Kyzylorda Region, Kazakhstan, kazakhstanite forms small (0.01 mm) round or oval grains; aggregates, and aggregates with bokite, are up to 0.5 x 1.5 cm2 in size. Kazakhstanite occurs in thin veins or cementing breccia in the weathering zone of vanadium-bearing black shales; it is associated with bokite (Mindat, HOM).

At the Gold Quarry mine, Maggie Creek Mining Subdistrict, Carlin Trend, Eureka County, Nevada, USA, kazakhstanite occurs in a hydrothermal gold deposit, associated with fervanite, schubnelite, hewettite, tyuyamunite, cacoxenite, variscite and fluellite (HOM).
