Environments
Leveantite is a relatively new mineral, approved in 2017.
Localities
At the type locality, Har Parsa, Hatrurim Basin, Tamar Regional Council, Southern District, Israel, levantite
was found in
gehlenite–wollastonite
hornfels. Levantite forms later zones on long-prismatic
crystals of latiumite. Rarer homogeneous colourless levantite
crystals up to 0.2 mm long were noted. Minerals of the
levantite–latiumite series are associated with
gehlenite, wollastonite,
esseneite–diopside,
anorthite and titanium-bearing
andradite
(MM 83.5.713-721.
