Although liversidgeite was approved in 2008, to date (July 2026) it has been approved only from the type locality.
Localities
At the type locality, Block 14 opencut, Broken Hill, Broken Hill district, Yancowinna County, New South Wales, Australia,
liversidgeite occurs as a secondary mineral in highly
weathered portions of the metamorphosed Pb-Zn-Ag sulphide deposit. It forms white, thin, bladed crystals and hemispherical
aggregates of radiating crystals in cavities in
sphalerite-galena ore. Associated
minerals are anglesite,
pyromorphite, greenockite,
sulphur and vanderheydenite.
Individual crystals are up to 0.1 mm in length and 0.05 mm across. Liversidgeite is transparent to translucent,
with a vitreous lustre and a white streak
(AM 95.2.397-404, HOM).
