Odigitriaite is a relatively new mineral, approved in 2015 and to date (April 2025) reported only from the
type locality
Localities
At the type locality, the Dara-i-Pioz Massif, Districts of Republican Subordination, Tajikistan, odigitriaite
was discovered in moraine adjacent to the massif in the upper reaches of the Darai-Pioz river at the intersection of
the Turkestansky, Zeravshansky and Alaisky mountain ridges. It occurs as irregular thin flakes associated with
quartz, pectolite,
baratovite, fluorite,
pekovite, polylithionite,
aegirine, leucosphenite,
pyrochlore, neptunite,
reedmergnerite,
mendeleevite-(Се),
zeravshanite and
sokolovaite
(MM 81.113-122).
