Oxyyttrobetafite-(Y) is a new mineral, approved in 2022 and to date (November 2023) reported only from
the type locality.
Localities
At the type locality, an Unnamed pegmatite, Yunoyama-onsen, Komono town, Mie District, Mie Prefecture, Japan,
oxyyttrobetafite-(Y) occurs as small brown grains in a cylinder–shaped aggregate (2.5 × 0.6 cm) in
blocks of albite-rich
granite
pegmatite. Associated minerals include
thorite, thorianite,
gadolinite-(Y), albite
and aeschynite-(Y)
(Mindat).
