Panskyite is a new mineral, approved in 2020 and to date (December 2024) reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, the Southern Kievey Fedorovo–Pana layered intrusion, Fedorovo-Pansky massif, Murmansk Oblast, Russia, panskyite was discovered in the platinum group element mineralisation. It forms tiny anhedral grains in the interstices of rock-forming silicates, often forming tiny inclusions in base-metal sulphides millerite, chalcopyrite, bornite and chalcocite, and also as complex intergrowths with other platinum group minerals such as zvyagintsevite, laflammeite, vysotskite and thalhammerite MM 85.2.161-171)
