Ruthenarsenite occurs as inclusions in osmium - iridium - ruthenium alloys, and in Alpine-type ultramafics. Associated minerals iclude rutheniridosmine, irarsite and iridarsenite (HOM).

Localities

At the type locality, the Waria River, Ioma area, Oro Province, Papua New Guinea, ruthenarsenite occurs as irregular inclusions up to 100 microns across in a matrix of rutheniridosmine which also contains inclusions of irarsite and iridarsenite (CM 12.280-284).
