Localities

At the type locality, Tugtup Agtakôrfia, Tunulliarfik Fjord, Ilímaussaq complex, Kujalleq, Greenland, schizolite occurs in a manganese ore deposit, associated with natrolite, manganvesuvianite, hydroxyapophyllite-(K), calcite, analcime and aegirine (Mindat).

At the Wessels mine, Kalahari Manganese Field, Northern Cape Province, South Africa, schizolite crystals occur as divergent aggregates of blades to 1.2 cm in association with aegirine, hydroxyapophyllite-(K), calcite and serandite (R&M 89.3.258-260, as marshallsussmanite).
