Selenodantopaite is a new mineral, approved in 2023.

Localities

At the type locality, the Princ Evžen deposit, Potůčky Deposit, Potůčky, Karlovy Vary District, Karlovy Vary Region, Czech Republic, selenodantopaite occurs as anhedral grains, up to 100 μm in size, in a quartz gangue with abundant coffinitised uraninite, chalcopyrite and pyrite. It is also associated with bohdanowiczite, minerals of the galena-clausthalite solid solution series, sphalerite and tennantite-(Fe) (https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/mineralogical-magazine/article/selenodantopaite-ag5bi13se22-a-new-member-of-the-pavonite-homologous-series-from-potucky-czech-republic/5620F160B42DA9A10A8138EC62FCEE1B).
The crystallisation of selenodantopaite is related to a a low-temperature hydrothermal event (Mindat).
