Localities

At the type locality, the Kirovskii apatite mine, Kukisvumchorr Mt, Khibiny Massif, Murmansk Oblast, Russia, stronadelphite was found in the Belovitovoye peralkaline pegmatite formed from hydrothermal alteration in a sinuous and branched vein cross-cutting nepheline syenite in the alkaline massif. Associated minerals include natrolite, microcline, aegirine, pectolite, lamprophyllite, belovite-(Ce), belovite-(La), gaidonnayite, nenadkevichite, komarovite, manganokukisvumite, epididymite, sphalerite and neotocite.
Stronadelphite forms hexagonal, transparent, prismatic to acicular crystals up to 0.1 × 0.1 × 2 mm3, combined in sheaf-like clusters up to 1 × 2 mm embedded in natrnatrolite (EJM 22.6.869-874, HOM).
