Localities

At the type locality, the Allende meteorite, Pueblito de Allende, Chihuahua, Mexico, tistarite is found as one subhedral crystal in a cluster of micrometer-sized refractory grains along with khamrabaevite, rutile, corundum and mullite within a ferromagnesian chondrule from the CV3 carbonaceous chondrite meteorite (AM 94.841-844, HOM).
