Vashegyite occurs associated with variscite, apatite, wavellite and evansite (HOM, Webmin).

Localities

At Chvaletice, Pardubice District, Pardubice Region, Czech Republic, vashegyite occurs intimately mixed with apatite and iron hydroxides (Dana).

At the type locality, Železník (Vashegy), Sirk, Revúca District, Banská Bystrica Region, Slovakia, vashegyite occurs in boxwork limonite in the oxidised zone of the siderite-ankerite deposit. Associated minerals include wavellite, variscite and evansite (Dana, HOM, Mindat, CM 21.489-498).

At the Gibellini Vanadium Project, Fish Creek Range, Gibellini Mining District, Eureka County, Nevada, USA, vashegyite is associated with wavellite and schoderite along fractures in chert (AM 47.637–648).

Near Manhattan, Manhattan Mining District, Toquima Range, Nye county, Nevada, USA, vashegyite occurs in altered slate with variscite (Dana).
