Vittinkiite is a relatively new mineral, approved in 2019

Localities

The type locality is the Vittinki Fe Mines, Ylistaro, Seinäjoki, South Ostrobothnia, Finland. Besides Vittinki, vitiinkiite has been found in more than a dozen rhodonite deposits worldwide, however, it is significantly less common than rhodonite. It typically forms pink to light pink massive, granular aggregates and is associated with quartz, rhodonite, tephroite, pyroxmangite and manganese oxides (MM 84.6.869-880).
