Coal deposits

Although zhemchuzhnikovite was first published in 1963, to date (September 2025) it has been reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, the Chai-Tumus coal deposits, Lena River Basin, Bulun District, Polar Yakutia, Sakha, Russia, zhemchuzhnikovite occurs in veinlets found at a depth of 230 m in a drill core in the permafrost zone, in brown coal naturally saturated with acetic acid. Associated minerals include calcite, dolomite and stepanovite (HOM).
