Zheshengite is a new mineral, approved in 2022 and to date (May 2025) reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, the Dongchuan Cu Mine, Sanguozhuang, Dongchuan District, Kunming, Yunnan, China, zheshengite has been found as prismatic single crystals with chisel-like terminations on hemimorphite, with crystal sizes ranging from 0.02 to 0.05 mm. It occurred due to oxidation of a vein composed of tennantite-(Zn), sphalerite, galena and minor pyrite. Associated minerals include arsendescloizite, arsenoveszelyite, bayldonite, duftite, galena, hemimorphite, kipushite, pyrite, quartz, sphalerite, tennantite-(Zn), theisite and veszelyite (Mindat).
