Metamorphic environments

Zoisite-(Pb) is a new mineral, approved in 2021 and to date (June 2023) reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, the Jakobsberg Mine, Jakobsberg ore field, Nordmark District, Filipstad, Värmland County, Sweden, zoisite-(Pb) was found as pale pink subhedral prisms up to 0.3 mm in size in the metamorphosed manganese-iron oxide deposit. Associated minerals include calcite, celsian, diopside, grossular, hancockite, hyalophane, native lead, phlogopite and vesuvianite (https://doi.org/10.3390/min12010051).
