Salt dome

Although aksaite was first published as long ago as 1962, to date (February 2025) it has been reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, the Chelkar salt dome, Aksai Valley, Shalkar District, Aktobe Region, Kazakhstan, aksaite was found in fine-grained rock salt containing kieserite, anhydrite and preobrazhenskite. The aksaite occurs in elongated crystals up to 7 mm long (AM 48.209-217)
Associated minerals include kieserite, anhydrite, preobrazhenskite, boracite, ginorite, halurgite, strontioborite, metaborite and halite (HOM).
