Preobrazhenskite occurs in fine-grained
halite–polyhalite rock.
Associated minerals include inyoite,
halite, polyhalite,
kieserite, anhydrite,
aksaite, boracite,
ginorite, halurgite,
strontioborite,
metaborite and kaliborite
(HOM).
Localities
At the type locality, the Inder B deposit and salt dome, Inder District, Atyrau Region, Kazakhstan,
preobrazhenskite is wide-spread in small amounts in several parts of the area. It occurs in colourless,
lemon-yellow and dark grey nodules in fine-grained
halite–polyhalite rock and
encloses kaliborite and
boracite. In places it has been partially replaced by
inyoite
(AM 42.704).
