Environments
Although halurgite was approved as early as 1962, to date (March 2025) it has been reported only from the
Type locality.
Localities
At the type locality, the Chelkar salt dome, Aksai Valley, Shalkar District, Aktobe Region, Kazakhstan,
halurgite is of rare occurrence in interstices and vugs in the
rock salt diapir (A dome or anticlinal fold in which the overlying rocks
have been ruptured by the squeezing-out of plastic core material - (Mindat)). Associated minerals include
boracite, kaliborite,
pinnoite, hilgardite,
ginorite, bischofite,
kieserite,
preobrazhenskite, aksaite,
strontioborite,
metaborite, anhydrite and
halite
(HOM).
