Allochalcoselite was approved in 2004 but to date (May 2023) it has been reported only from the
type locality.
Localities
At the type locality, the Second scoria cone, Northern Breakthrough, Great Fissure eruption, Tolbachik volcano,
Kamchatka Krai, Russia, allochalcoselite occurs as small prismatic crystals up to 0.1 mm long. formed by
sublimation around a degassing volcanic fumarole.
Associated minerals include cotunnite,
sofiite, ilinskite,
georgbokiite and burnsite
(HOM, Mindat).
