Metamorphic environments

Bario-orthojoaquinite has been reported only from the type locality, the Dallas Gem mine, San Benito county, California, USA, and from the nearby Victor claim (Mindat January 2020). At the type locality it occurs in a block of highly fractured basalt subjected to high-pressure metamorphism and serpentinisation, associated with joaquinite-(Ce), benitoite, baotite, fresnoite and natrolite (Dana, HOM). The crystals are zoned with a joaquinite core (AM 67.809).
