Localities

At the type locality, the Aginskoe Au deposit, Central Kamchatka mining district, Bystrinsky District, Kamchatka Krai, Russia, bezsmertnovite occurs in volcanogenic gold telluride deposits in zones of cementation, associated with bilibinskite, rarely as rims around grains of gold. The bezsmertnovite is found as elongated platy or irregular grains up to 0.2 x 0.05 mm in size. In reflected light it resembles gold, being very bright orange yellow in colour (AM 66.878-879).
Associated minerals include bilibinskite, bogdanovite, native gold and tellurides of Cu, Fe and Pb (HOM).
