Hydrothermal environments

Bogdanovite occurs in the oxidation zone of gold - tellurium deposits (Webmin).
It occurs with bilibinskite in the supergene zone of oxidation of deposits in Kazakhstan and Far Eastern USSR, associated with gold, various tellurides and tellurites of iron, copper and lead (AM 64.1329-1334).

Localities

At the type locality, the Aginskoe Au deposit, Central Kamchatka mining district, Bystrinsky District, Kamchatka Krai, Russia, bogdanovite occurs in the oxidation zone of the gold - tellurium deposit. Associated minerals include gold, bilibinskite, bezsmertnovite, belyankinite, and tellurides of iron, copper and lead (HOM).
