Biagioniite is a relatively new mineral, found in a museum sample, approved in 2019 and to date (February 2023)
reported only from the type locality.
Localities
At the type locality, the Hemlo gold deposit, Bomby Township, Thunder Bay District, Ontario, Canada, biagioniite
occurs as very rare opaque, black, anhedral crystals with a metallic lustre up to 65 μm across. Associated minerals
include aurostibite, stibarsen
and native gold in a calcite matrix
(MM 84.390-397).
