Biehlite is a very rare mineral reported only from its type locality, the Tsumeb Mine, Oshikoto Region, Namibia (as of July 2023). Here it is a secondary mineral found associated with anglesite and wulfenite on fine-grained copper ore in the oxidation zone of the mine, in a dolostone-hosted hydrothermal polymetallic ore deposit (Mindat, Webmin, AM 86.197).
