Fumeroles

Cesiodymite is a new mineral, approved in 2016 and to date (September 2022), reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, the Arsenatnaya fumarole, Second scoria cone, Northern Breakthrough, Great Fissure eruption. Tolbachik volcano, Kamchatka Krai, Russia, cesiodymiteoccurs in the fumerole as coarse tabular or prismatic crystals or grains up to 0.3 mm. Associated minerals include euchlorine, chalcocyanite, alumoklyuchevskite, anglesite, fedotovite, wulffite, langbeinite, aphthitalite, steklite, hematite and cryptochalcite (Mindat).
