Environments
Darapiosite was first published in 1975, but to date (May 2025) it has been reported only from the
type locality.
Localities
At the type locality, the Dara-i-Pioz Massif, Districts of Republican Subordination, Tajikistan, darapiosite
occurs in masses up to 0.5 cm across in glacial moraine derived from the alkalic massif. Associated minerals
include aegirine and quartz, as
well as sogdianite, eudialyte,
schizolite and
polylithionite
(AM 61.1053-1054, HOM).
