Fumeroles

Ferroefremovite is a relatively new mineral, approved in 2019, and to date (March 2022) reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, the "Bocca Grande" fumarole, Solfatara di Pozzuoli, Pozzuoli, Naples, Campania, Italy, ferroefremovite occurred as cubic crystals up to 0.1 mm across, associated with adranosite, adranosite-(Fe), godovikovite, huizingite-(Al), mascagnite and opal. The fumerole has a temperature of about 160oC (CM 59.1.59-68).
