Garmite is a relatively new mineral, approved in 2017.

Localities

At the type locality, Dara-i-Pioz Massif, Districts of Republican Subordination, Tajikistan, kalyuzhnyite-(Ce) occurs in a quartzpectolite aggregate in a peralkaline pegmatite. Associated minerals are quartz, fluorite, pectolite, baratovite, aegirine, leucosphenite, neptunite, reedmergnerite, orlovite, sokolovaite, mendeleevite-(Ce), odigitriaite, pekovite, zeravshanite, kirchhoffite and garmite (MM 88.1.19–30).
Garmite occurs as lamellae up to 0.2 mm across and up to 0.02 mm thick (Mindat).
