Hydrothermal environments

Although hatchite was 'Grandfathered', having first been described prior to 1959, to date (May 2023) it has been listed on Mindat only as occurring at the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, the Lengenbach Quarry, Fäld, Binn, Goms, Valais, Switzerland, hatchite is of hydrothermal origin, found in crystalline dolostone. Associated minerals include wallisite, hutchinsonite, jentschite, sicherite, edenharterite, bernardite, stalderite, lorándite, realgar and orpiment (HOM).
