Kanatzidisite is a new mineral, approved in 2023 and to date (April 2026) reported only from the type locality.

Localities

The type locality is the Alsó-Rózsa adit, Nagybörzsöny, Szob District, Pest County, Hungary. Here kanatzidisite occurs as grains up to about 20 μm in size in stockwork in a propylitised (the result of low-pressure and low-medium temperature alteration around many hydrothermal orebodies) dacite breccia pipe, associated with quartz and arsenopyrite (Mindat).
