Localities

There are two type loclities, the Arzak Hg occurrence, and the Kadyrel Hg occurrence, Oorash-Khem River Valley, both in the Uyuk Range, Pi-Khem District, Tuva, Russia. The lavrentievite occurs in the oxidised zone of the hydrothermal mercury-bearing deposits.
At Arzak the lavrentievite and arzakite occur as intergrowths of complex form, associated with cinnabar, corderoite, quartz and kaolinite
At Kadyrel lavrentievite was associated with calomel, bromian corderoite, bromian eglestonite, kuzminite, cinnabar, iron oxides and native mercury (AM 70.873-874, HOM).
