Localities

At the type locality, the Likasi Mine, Likasi, Haut-Katanga, DR Congo, likasite occurs as crystals implanted on cuprite or as blue masses in cuprite, surrounded by a crust of malachite and by malachite pseudomorphs after likasite. Associated minerals are native copper, native silver, buttgenbachite and brochantite (AM 40.942).
Also gerhardtite, miersite and iron oxides (HOM).
