Localities

At the type locality, the Miass River, Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia, miassite occurs as rounded inclusions to 100 µm in fluvial placer deposits derived from ophiolites or layered mafic intrusions. Associated minerals include isoferroplatinum, cuprorhodsite, bowieite, vasilite, cooperite and keithconnite (HOM).
