Localities
There are two co-type localities, Mount Filipp, Kamchatka Krai, and the Chad Massif, Ayan-Maya district, Khabarovsk Krai,
both in Russia. Here cuprorhodsite occurs as small inclusions in angular
isoferroplatinum host grains that are, in turn, the result of
platinum mineralisation within alluvial deposits. Other associated mineral
inclusions are cuproiridsite, malanite,
native osmium, osmium variety iridosmine,
laurite, erlichmanite,
cooperite, sperrylite,
chalcopyrite and bornite
